Fiddy AI Academy ("we", "us", "our") is an online AI skills training platform operated by Fidean Technologies, a business registered in the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, share, and protect your personal information when you:

  • Visit fiddyaiacademy.com or any of our subdomains and pages;
  • Enroll in any of our training levels or programmes;
  • Create a student account on our portal;
  • Join our community spaces, WhatsApp groups, or mailing lists;
  • Contact us for support, or interact with our advertisements on social media platforms.

We are committed to handling your personal data responsibly and in accordance with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (NDPA) and, where applicable, other data protection laws that apply to you.

2.2 Information collected automatically

When you use our website or portal, we may automatically collect:

  • Technical data — IP address, browser type and version, device type, operating system, screen size;
  • Usage data — pages viewed, time spent, links clicked, referral source, session timestamps;
  • Cookie data — identifiers stored in your browser (see Section 5).

2.3 Information from third parties

  • Payment processors — confirmation that a transaction succeeded or failed;
  • Advertising and analytics platforms — aggregated or pseudonymised data about how you reached our site, when you interact with our adverts on platforms such as Meta (Facebook/Instagram), Google, or TikTok;
  • Referrers — the referral code used when a student enrolls through an existing student's link.

We do not collect or store your full card details. Card numbers, CVV codes and bank credentials are handled entirely by our payment processor. We only receive a transaction reference and the payment status.

03 How We Use Your Information

We use your personal information for the following purposes:

  • To create and manage your account — registering you as a student and giving you access to the level you enrolled in;
  • To process payments — initiating and verifying transactions, issuing receipts, and managing refunds;
  • To deliver training — sending class schedules, live session links, replay access, materials and assignments;
  • To provide support — responding to your questions, resolving access issues, and administering your account;
  • To operate the community — enabling discussion spaces, moderation, and student interaction;
  • To administer the referral programme — tracking referrals and calculating rewards where applicable;
  • To communicate with you — service announcements, updates, and (with your consent) marketing messages;
  • To improve our services — understanding which content is useful and how students use the platform;
  • To run advertising — measuring the performance of our campaigns and showing relevant adverts to people who may be interested in our training;
  • To protect our platform — detecting fraud, abuse, account sharing, and security threats;
  • To meet legal obligations — complying with tax, accounting, and regulatory requirements.

Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023, we rely on the following lawful bases:

5.2 Advertising platforms

We advertise on third-party platforms including Meta Platforms (Facebook and Instagram), Google, and TikTok. These platforms may place cookies or pixels on our site so that:

  • We can see how many people who saw an advert later visited our site or enrolled;
  • We can show our adverts to people with similar interests to our existing students;
  • You can be shown relevant adverts on those platforms after visiting our site.

These platforms act as independent data controllers for the information they collect through their own cookies. You can control their use of your data through your ad settings:

  • Meta: Settings → Ads → Ad Preferences
  • Google: Ad Settings at adssettings.google.com
  • Your browser: Most browsers let you block or delete cookies in their privacy settings.

5.3 Managing cookies

You can set your browser to refuse cookies or alert you when cookies are being sent. If you disable strictly necessary cookies, parts of our site — particularly the student portal — will not function correctly.

All service providers are required to handle your data securely and only for the purposes we specify.

07 Payment Information

All payments on Fiddy AI Academy are processed by Paystack, a PCI-DSS compliant payment processor. When you pay:

  • Your card or bank details are entered directly on Paystack's secure checkout and are never seen or stored by us;
  • We receive only a transaction reference, the amount, the currency, and whether the payment succeeded;
  • Paystack processes your data under its own privacy policy, available at paystack.com/privacy.

We retain payment records (reference, amount, date, level purchased) for accounting, refund handling, and dispute resolution.

09 How We Protect Your Data

We take the security of your information seriously and use appropriate technical and organisational measures, including:

  • Encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) across our website and portal;
  • Password hashing — we never store passwords in plain text;
  • Access controls limiting who within our team can view student data;
  • Secure, access-controlled servers and databases;
  • Regular review of our systems and third-party providers.

No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure. While we work hard to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately.

10 Your Rights

Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023, you have the right to:

  • Be informed — know how your data is being used (this policy);
  • Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
  • Rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data;
  • Erasure — ask us to delete your data, subject to our legal retention obligations;
  • Restrict processing — ask us to limit how we use your data in certain circumstances;
  • Object — object to processing based on legitimate interests, or to direct marketing at any time;
  • Data portability — receive your data in a structured, commonly used format;
  • Withdraw consent — where processing is based on consent, withdraw it at any time.

Complaints: If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC) at ndpc.gov.ng. We would appreciate the chance to resolve your concern first.

11 Children's Privacy

Our training programmes are intended for persons aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

If you are under 18 and wish to enroll, you must have a parent or guardian enroll on your behalf and take responsibility for the account.

If we become aware that we have collected data from a child without appropriate consent, we will delete it promptly. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us at teamlead@fideantech.com.

12 International Data Transfers

Some of our service providers (for example, payment processors, hosting, and advertising platforms) may store or process data outside Nigeria. Where we transfer personal data internationally, we take steps to ensure it receives an adequate level of protection, in line with the NDPA 2023.

13 Marketing Communications

We may send you service messages that are essential to your enrollment — such as class schedules, access details, receipts, and important account notices. These are not marketing and cannot be opted out of while you remain an active student.

With your consent, we may also send you marketing messages about new courses, offers, and updates. You can:

  • Uncheck the WhatsApp updates box when you enroll;
  • Click "unsubscribe" in any marketing email;
  • Reply "STOP" to any marketing WhatsApp message;
  • Email us at teamlead@fideantech.com to be removed from marketing lists.

Opting out of marketing does not affect your access to the training you have paid for.

14 Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements. When we make material changes, we will:

  • Update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page;
  • Notify active students by email or through the student portal.

We encourage you to review this page periodically.
